Getting my geek on!
5 August 2011 00:56It’s that time of year when I get my geek on, grab my dice and had to GenCon!
Everyone has their geekery, some head to frolicon, some head to dragon*con, me I go where the dice roll and the mountain dew flows freely, GenCon!
As ever I’m doing my best too aid the exile games crew, I mean come on, who wouldn’t want to help the Sech Machine here?
GenCon has proven fun so far. I’ve not done my tour of duty on the booth as yet, but I have faced down the horde of gamers waiting to get in and survived, so all is good.
That said, as I write this it’s 1.50AM BST, I’m shattered from day one of the con so far and it’s not over yet!
Today saw me grabbing some of the con exclusives, schmooing with the people I know and showing Chris how to use a little bit of social engineering and logic to avoid mammoth queues for things.
This evening so far has involved attending a sushi making class which was marvellous and yielded the following rather gorgeous rolls.
I wish I could say they’re mine, those ones belong to Chris, mine got eaten pretty much as soon as they got made. A combination of hunger and embarrassment at their less than artistic nature I’m afraid. Mind you, if you want an example of my handiwork, the two rather large spicy tuna rolls in the centre are all mine.
For now I am relaxing somewhat before a burlesque show in an hour. Say what you want about my geeking, but right now, life does not get better than this!
