The inevitable…
5 April 2011 21:59So, it finally happened; a prospective employer google stalked me.
I’ll let the irony of this settle in for a moment for those that know me and my google stalking-fu.
I admit it, I have engaged in google stalking myself. I obtained the contact details for someone who turned into a partner after I walked off from first meeting them without swapping phone numbers. I routinely look up details on recruiters and people who are interviewing me. My philosophy being that if they’ve not locked down things online, then the information is public access.
As is everything I post online. I tweet, I blog, I flickr. All of this information is in the public domain. I am just more surprised that it’s taken this long for someone to look me up and confess that they’ve done it.
So, what did they discover about me? I wear a fez and have a mild cake obsession. *smiles*
Perhaps not the worst you could discover about a person, but a timely reminder that google-stalking has entered the corporate world.
