Waking up is hard to do

and then I woke up

I remember ending more than one story in junior school like that. It’s a lazy technique, although at that age it seems all very exciting and daring. What I never expected was for it to apply to real life.

Things don’t come to a neat end, they don’t just go away, life is messy and ragged and strange. It’s not neat and tidy. So colour me confused when on Monday I woke up and it was as if a great weight had been lifted from me. All of a sudden I have my bounce and energy back, and a sense of optimism about the future again. Hell’s teeth, I was at my laptop at 8.30 armed with brew, breakfast and a desire to see what the day will bring.

And I’m thankful for it. Ye gods and little fishes I’m thankful for it. Being under a cloud for so long I had forgotten what it was like to feel like this. Whilst I don’t think I shall be endeavouring to put a dent in the universe, I’d settle for rattling it a bit on a fly-by.

Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby

If I owe you an e-mail poke me. If I owe you work, poke me harder! Hell, if you just want to poke me to say hello, offer me work or ask me out for coffee-please do so!

It’s good to be back, and I shall be holding onto this for as long as I can!
