A failure is me!
22 June 2011 12:08I took the test despite yesterday’s fall, however a combination of nerves, shaking off the fall and some very sloppy riding on my part meant that in this instance I did not pass.
For the morbidly curious, the reasons I did not pass were as follows:
- Knocked over a cone on the slalom (irritating as hell as I’ve NEVER done this during training)
- Failure to perform observations before the slow ride (nerves on my part as I’d been careful to check elsewhere)
- Riding too fast on the slow ride (again, nerves on my part and I forgot the rear brake existed-d’oh!)
- Failure to reach 50KMH for the avoidance (irritating, nerves again on my part)
I’m actually quite chipper about it though. I’ve taken the test and got a good sense of what’s involved now. From here I’ve more training on the Gladius booked for Saturday, and my intention is to get some serious hours and practice in and try again soon.
The rest of today will see some down time as I’ve been focussing on learning to ride a lot, and revisiting pet projects like flabwars, and looking at the paid work I have outstanding.
